I walked to the car and had two surges very close together which I hung onto Russell to get through. We got in the car and to my surprise I felt happy to be sat down. We started to drive and then I said ‘wait let’s put some Christmas music on!

I can honestly say that at no point was I scared, panicked or without control of my birth and it was the best experience of my life.

The midwife, before examining me said, “I’m not sure you are in active labour as you haven’t had a surge since you arrived” 🙄 - about 15 mins. I was not impressed but she then examined me a said I was a good 7cm dilated. - Ha!

We really enjoyed our hypnobirthing course with Jade, we felt it gave us the knowledge and confidence to have a positive birth.

People often talk about an emergency Caesarean as a panicked situation and very dramatic but I can honestly say that with the hypnobirthing techniques and going into the process really informed I felt calm and prepared to meet our little boy.
